"The UK music industry contributed £5.2bn to the UK economy in 2018, according to the Music By Numbers study published by UK Music.

Recorded music contributed £568m of GVA (Gross Value Added), which represents a 5 per cent increase on 2017.  

Employment in the UK music industry was a record 190,935 in 2018. UK music exports grew from £451m to £478m, a rise of 8 per cent. For a third consecutive year, label revenues rose (up 3 per cent)."
